  1. Adding A Primary Domain to your Website

How to: Knowledge Base Article

When you sign up with Ubertor, we provide you with a host domain. A host domain will have the ".myubertor" in the domain name. For  example, if you sign up with "Jim Bob" you will get www.JimBob.myubertor.com.

No one wants to advertise a www.JimBob.myubertor.com, SO, we advise all Ubertor users to work with a PRIMARY DOMAIN such as Jimbob.com, Jimbob.ca, Jimbob.net, Jimbob.info etc..

You can purchase any .com, .net, or .info domains here or you can purchase a .ca domain here.

Setting up a primary domain is really simple. A Knowledge Base article with instructions on how to set up a primary domain is above.

Adding a primary domain to your website is important for a few reasons:

  • It allows your visitors and clients to access your website easily
  • Your domain name is unique and specific to your business
  • Visitors and clients will remember your website by your primary domain

2. Adding A Small Portrait to your Website

Sometimes Ubertor users get confused with what a small portait is and what it does for your website. A small portrait in "Ubetor            terminology" is a 100 X 100 pixel head shot that will pop up with each and every on of your listings and feature sheets along side your
business card contact information. This is the only place the small portrait will appear.

It's a good idea to attach a small portrait to your website, so your visitors and clients can put a face to YOU. If they are browsing the listings on your website, don't you want them to know who you are? What you look like? ... Putting a face to a name is a great step forward in any great business relationship.

3. Setting up an E-Mail Alias

How to: Knowledge Base Article

The Ubertor system allows users to create E-Mail aliases. The system DOES NOT host email.

An E-Mail alias relates closely to the primary domain you set into place. You will not be able to create an E-Mail alias if you do not have a primary domain set. Once the primary domain is set into place, you can create any alias you like.

For example, let's go back to our JimBob.com example. If you set JimBob.com as your primary domain you can add any alias before the @jimbob.com. So, if I want the alias info@jimbob.com, I can set it up. In fact I can have any thing before the @jimbob.com - jim@jimbob.com, bob@jimbob.com, curlysue@jimbob.com, whateveryoulike@jimbob.com ...

Now the important part is where this E-Mail alias will redirect E-Mails to. You will need a host E-Mail account: GMail, Hotmail, Shaw, Telus, etc... You can use whichever E-Mail you like. SO essentially, you can create:

_ _ _

info@jimbob.com --> (redirect any email to...) jimbob@gmail.com

"any email sent to info@jimbob.com will automatically forward the email to jimbob@gmail.com"

_ _ _

4. Adding a Listing to your Website

How to: Knowledge Base Article (By Hand)

How to: Knoledge Base Article (Download by MLS#)

If you are a Realtor from one of these areas: Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Calgary, Edmonto, Victoria or Chilliwack you will be able to download reciprocity active listings via MLS # directly to your website.

If you are not a Realtor in one the areas mentioned above, don't worry you can add your listing by hand or frame in and IDX Property search. It may take a little longer to add a listing by hand, but I always like to think that adding in every specific detail of a listing you're selling is key to understanding what you're marketing out there.

When adding a listing, I suggest filling in all the standard details first - Address, Finance, Details, Description, Features, Amentities. Fill in as much as you can, and remember to be creative and descriptive when describing the property.

Next, work with each one of the tabs...

Overview - Is the details of the property

Photos - Are the photos of the that property. It will display on your website as a slideshow

Extra - A place for you to upload specific files (ex.strata documents) for that property. Remember, you can change the name of the tab

Map - Google Map your property; visitors and clients will be able to see where the property is

Mini Site - Want to assign a specific domain to your listing? You can do it with the mini-site option

Open House - Set your Open House availability for your listing. The Open House will appear on your website 6 days before the day is set

V 360 - Do you have a virtual tour for your property? Embed it, using the Internal Tour option OR simply link off to it using the External Tour option

Video - Add video to your listing. I find that adding your own personal tour and video comments to the listing helps upsell the entire property. Don't be shy; get out your video camera and start filming!
